141:365 Mud Monster!
7/11/10
Grandma and Papa Lewis came down for a visit so we could head to the beach! We went down to St. Simons and the tide was reeeeeeeaaaaaallllly far out (not to mention it was the absolute hottest time of the day! EEEK!), so Corbin had a lot of room to RUN FREE!

She also found the wet gloopy sand perfect for covering herself!

Time to head out to the water to rinse ourselves off! The water was really shallow for pretty far out with hardly any waves.

Whoohoo!

Jesus or a member of the X-men?

Fun day at the beach, wish it could have lasted longer! Everything was fun except for having an allergic reaction to my suncreen, yikes! My favorite part was the baby sand dollars we found in the sand that crept across our hands. It was amazing!

99:365 Happy to be Home!
5/30/10
This past Sunday, Ryan and I attended the wedding of my fellow Biology teacher, Donna Fischetti. She had asked me to be her hair stylist for the wedding and I courageously took up the challenge (she has a TON of hair). She had her wedding on Jekyll Island, on the most BEAUTIFUL beach in the whole world, I swear.
Driftwood Beach. I'm in love.

We left Corbs with my sister Brittney for the day, and it was nice to have a few hours sans baby! This was after the ceremony, in one of the big trees on the beach.

I was SO HAPPY to have my baby girl back, though. And from what Brittney and Anthony said, she was a handful! She seemed pretty happy to be home, though. She's giving me this look like, "Mama, don't leave me for that long again!" lol

Hanging out on the kitchen floor, waiting for a hotdog and some macaroni. Apparently she wouldn't eat while we were away!

And I'm SO looking forward to heading back down to this beach again soon! It's only a little further south than the beach we frequent at St. Simons, but you have to pay a toll just to get on the island. Lame! I guess it's worth it, though, because this beach was AWESOME! :)

First day of summer vacation and I spent it the best way possible...hitting the beach with my sister Brittney! I got up bright and early and the Corbs and I met up with her and we went to St. Simon's Island. It was such a beautiful day and YES, I remembered the sunscreen this time! :)
I really didn't take a ton of pictures, but I did get this one of me and Corbin hanging out on our beach towel, taking a break from running around (WHOO, she's a handful!)

Corbin did a lot of swimming. She likes holding on to a ring float and kicking her little legs around. I was so proud of her! I definitely need to get her a little ring float before we hit the pool again. She enjoyed the freedom of it, I think.
And this picture from later in the day just cracks me up because she was totally lounging on the couch, using Madison as a pillow! She frequently tries to use Winston as a chair, too!

Corbin is so much fun, haha.

Beach day! Sometimes when I find myself feeling pitiful because I hate where I live, I just remind myself how close I am to the beach. And having my friend Summer and coworker Donna come along for the day made things much brighter. :) We made a trip to Tybee and spent the day after my birthday there. The waves were phenomenal and the sun was shining bright.
I didn't break out the camera, but I did snap a picture with my phone. Sorry for the poor quality!

Corbin also broke out her beach toys she got from Nanna for her birthday and she had an absolute BLAST! I feel so bad when we have to drag her out the water because she loves it SO MUCH. I can't wait to spend at least ONCE A WEEK during the summer in the ocean! :)
And me, catching some rays!

Perhaps a bit TOO MANY rays, though! I ended up with the most RIDICULOUS sunburn EVER! I'm still peeling over a week later! Oh well, I guess it was worth it! Next time I'll remember the sunscreen, haha. :P

48:365 Sparkles...
4/9/10
So I'm pretty sure that at the moment, this is one of my all-time favorite pictures I've taken of Corbin. It's almost sunset at the ocean, and we are at St. Simons Island once again, this time with my BFF Summer. Corbin, as usual, just can't get enough of the gentle waves.

Isn't this picture fantastic?! I love the motion of it, and the sun sparkling off of the water...so beautiful, so full of light. And the vibrant blue of the sky...man, I love the ocean.
Some outtakes!

Giant cup of cherry Dr. Pepper. Corbin was pretty keen on helping herself!

Me and the Corbs hanging at the water. I was trying to keep an eye out for the jellyfish...they were everywhere!! It was sad to see them washed ashore as well, but what can you do? You definitely can't pick them up and throw them back in!

My little mermaid. :)

My second favorite picture from this shoot. I love the sun in the sky. It's gorgeous. It was just a gorgeous day at the beach overall!
Sadly, this has been the last time that we've been back to the beach. With these furlough days, I just can't spare the gas money to get us back down there. I got Corbin an awesome Brobee kite for the next time we go, and I'm hoping that's my birthday next Saturday, but let's hope that weather is permitting! We all know how much my baby and I love the sand and surf!

46:365 St. Simon's!
4/7/10
Beach Day TWO! We just couldn't get enough, haha.
The guys decided they wanted to see a different beach, so they suggested we go down to St. Simon's. I'm soooo glad they did, because it was a much nicer beach! The sand was nice, the waves were nice, and we had another wonderful day at the ocean!
Look how happy the Corbs was!

Definitely my little water elemental spirit baby. :)
I tried not to be redundant (since Tybee was the day before), but here are some pictures of the baby enjoying the beach:
LOVE Allison's face in this picture!! That water must have been COLD!

Ryan keeping the girls company. He said the water was too cold. Mark, Matt, and I disagreed!

Loving the wave action!

Blissfully content.

The Corbs running up the beach to where Nanna was sunbathing, Ryan is pursuit.

Corbin loves the ocean. When she wanted to go in the water and we were trying to get her to stay on the towels, she would try to create a diversion. She'd stoop over and start scratching in the sand and then as though we weren't paying attention, she'd jump up and RUN RUN RUN towards the water. Then if we got closer, she'd stop and do it again, gaining a few feet each time. She's so ridiculous.
Her birthday is next Tuesday, and I'm thinking of taking her to the beach again since she loves it so much. I even got her a cool Brobee kite to fly! It's going to be aweeeesooooooome!

45:365 Tybee!
4/6/10
Tuesday of Spring Break was our first trek to the beach! We chose Tybee because we already knew how to get there, not to mention we had to stop at Target and get the Corbs a new swimsuit...the one from last year just does not fit anymore (why is she growing so fast?!), and there's a Target right in Savannah on the way to the beach.
The girls had a blaaaast. Even if it was a bit breezy, I could NOT keep Corbin out of the water without her throwing a gigantic tantrum! They especially loved when the waves came in!

What a fun shot! I love Allison's face! I have another pretty cool one of her from St. Simon's, but that's the next entry!
More fun beach photos!
Why does she love the sand like this? She was BATHING in it, and this was right after we got to the beach!! She always has to stay covered H to T! (Gotta say it like Tyra Banks, haha.)

Hanging out on the beach towel in her new swimsuit. Thank you Target for always have the CUTEST BABY CLOTHES OF ALL TIME!!

Splashing time! This is definitely where they were happiest. :)

Cranky, pouty Corbin after we made her get out of the water (her lips were blue and she was shivering!) and put on her Jedi robes. She cried and cried, but I couldn't watch her freeze like that! Not to mention she really needed a nap!

The Jedi twins. Love those little robes! Nanna got them for the girls at Target. It was a smart buy!

Me and my baby girl! She looks SO MISERABLE, haha.

Sand castle! Corbin was only there for destruction, however. Shortly after this picture, the sand castle was no more!

First day at the beach was a blaaaaaaaaast, but it's not over! More beach fun coming soon! :D

Beach Baby!
One of the perks of living down here in Hinesville is that we are within driving distance of several beaches. We've been down to Tybee twice, but unfortunately, the first time we went, it was raining! While the beach was beautiful during the downpour, it was much too cold for our baby girl.
Luckily, we had some friends come down to visit this week and Monday afternoon we loaded up and drove back down to the sandy shores of Tybee, and this time the weather was much more appropriate!
Corbin loves water, and so she loves the ocean! She gets very upset when we don't let her run away into the waves, but the current is pretty strong! It's okay, though, she still had a blast, and here are some of the highlights of our trip!
Playing in the mud sand with daddy.

Mmmmm...that muddy sand stuff is tasty!

Trying to escape into the deep blue sea!

Oh no! Daddy reels her back in.

Playing chase with daddy, hoping to escape again!

Sand at sunset. This is the BEST time of day to hit the beach!

Moving on to dry sand...

For some reason she thought it was a good idea to stick her face in it repeatedly, lol.

An analogy for life? :P

Corbin playing in the shells, while the birds try to steal her crackers.

Get on away from me and my crackers!

Yes, the birds were like magnets. Less than a minute after I pulled out the cracker and gave it to her, there were about five of them flying just above her head. They started landing and surrounding her, and I got a bit nervous, but they flew away when I ran towards them!
So after fun in the waves and sand, I doused her off with a spray water bottle, removed the swimsuit and swim diaper, and it was time to go back home again. She slept like a rock, heehee.
Until next time! :)
