Kindergarten Recap

Holy moly.  My last update was about oh...a year ago?!

So...time flies when you're having fun, right?!  A much needed update on the Beans is in order!

This year we started Kindergarten at FLE!  Here she is with her daddy on her first day of school, wearing her school uniform.  She was super excited!
First day of school! Daddy went back to school this year, too.
Along with uniforms this year, we also realized that we needed glasses!
Rocking the glasses in true Corbin fashion!
Snuggles with Sprinkles.
Kindergarten had its ups and downs, but mostly ups!  Corbin was nominated for placement in the gifted and talented program and after a battery of testing, she made it in!  I am so excited for her because my gifted classes were a huge part of my life and I hope that she enjoys the program as much as I did!

Just call her "jazzy."
Too happy!
Her 6th birthday was on Easter Sunday this year.  Can't believe that she is really six years old...she is growing up to be so beautiful and amazing; I'm truly proud to be her mother.
Birthday girl!

Showing some serious sass (she has plenty of it).

Time to blow out the candles!

Birthday party Easter egg hunt!  Barefoot, of course!
Just like in years past, I took the check-up photo.  I love this picture so much because she came up with the pose all by herself.
Heart hands!
And just for fun, because I am in awe of how much she has grown over the years, I made a collage of all of her birthdays.  It really blows my mind!
Beautiful Beans.
Also during this time, we got a new puppy, Clover!  She is a Boston Terrier like Winston and Madison and she is craaaaazy energetic!  Life is pretty awesome these days!  Definitely looking forward to the upcoming summer break!

Until next time!

43:365 Happy Easter!

4/4/10

It was sooooo hard for me to choose the picture for Easter! Corbin was the cutest thing in the WORLD (I really use the words "cute" and "adorable" a lot, I know), and I got extremely camera happy. Her dress was much more beautiful than I could have imagined, and then her pigtails were perfect and she was so happy and cheerful...just couldn't have been a better and more gorgeous day with the family. :)

And so, without further ado, an Easter photostory! :D

Last year, Easter was cute. I got Corbin all dressed up, gave her a basket, handed her an egg, took some pictures. She really had no idea what was going on. This year, it was a whole different story.

Daddy and I showed her to hold her basket and pick up eggs. She quickly realized the plastic eggs were filled with candy. Next thing I know, she was hauling butt across the yard, basket in tow, grabbing up all the eggs and SQUEEZING them to get them to pop open. Boiled eggs, however, merely crumble, haha. I could not stop laughing!

She ran off with her basket, tried to hide, and dumped it out. It was chocolate time!

So proud of my big girl carrying her basket and collecting eggs all by herself!

Please note the hot pink toenails. Yes, she sat still and let me paint them! (Yo Gabba Gabba was on, it wasn't too hard, haha.)

Super stoked about this green egg! Haha.

Digging in her basket (which was covered in melted chocolate) for more yummy goodness.

I love this picture because she totally reminds me of a scientist having a "Eureka!" moment. She's going to be a future genius, I just know it. Not that she isn't a genius already. ;)

And just for fun, Easter post from last year: Baby's First Easter! And yes, she's still the cutest thing ever. Y'all don't be too jealous. ;)

Baby's First Easter!

This past Sunday was our first Easter with our beautiful wonderful amazing baby girl Corbi-lou. So of course I was SUPER EXCITED! She had the super ridiculous hairbow and the adorable blue dress, not to mention the coolest Hello Kitty Easter basket a girl could possibly hope for! It was so fun.

Here she is, chilling with daddy. It was pretty bright outside! A nice change after all the rain we've been getting.

And here we are together. I'm wearing her lamb ears. They were cute, but I think they look better on her! :) (I'm also pretty sure I had them on backwards!)

And the hunt begins! She was a little cranky, so she had her pacifier, but once she realized what was going on, it was quickly forgotten.

Completely fascinated with her first egg! She spent a good two to three minutes examining the egg, without even trying to put it in her mouth! When she realized there were more to play with, there was no stopping her!

The plastic ones were her favorites because she could shake them, making the treats (and sometimes money) inside of them rattle!

I has an egg!!!! She was so happy, she would not stop laughing. :)

She also did not like when I put her eggs in the basket. Those were her eggs, and she wanted to play with them!

Tired out from all the fun and excitement. Not to mention the complete lack of her afternoon nap.

Overflowing with eggs! Which we had to protect from her cousins who were bound and determined to have them!

Alas, she just couldn't stand for the eggs to actually be in the basket. And HEY, what's this cool papery stuff?! Is it edible?

And so we had a fun day! And I had a fun day cleaning up green and pink Easter grass from one end of my living room to the other the next day!

CAN'T WAIT UNTIL SUNDAY! It's her super awesome FIRST BIRTHDAY PARTY...and then Monday....THE ZOO! :D (Shh, don't remind her of Tuesday. It's our one-year shots!)

11 Months!

Holy moly, my baby is 11 months old! That came and went very quickly!

And so, I'm starting to plan her birthday party! I already know for sure that I'm going to have a cook-out on Sunday, April 19th at my place, starting at 3pm. I'm going to have the boys cooking (Ryan and Mark, in case anyone didn't know), but that's all I know for sure.

Her actual birthday is Monday, the 20th, and I'm thinking about taking the day off and heading up to the Atlanta Zoo. I haven't been since I was a kid, and I don't remember anything about it. It'll cost Ryan $18.99 to get in, but I can get the college student rate at $14.99 and Corbin can get in for free! That's not so bad, money-wise! Food shouldn't be an issue, because Ryan and I can pack a lunch if we need to (a la our honeymoon in Disney World), and Corbin's food is already as portable as can be!

So yes, that's the plan, hoping that weather permits and I can take a day off of work. I think she'll love the zoo, since she seems to REALLY love animals, and being outdoors. I want to do cheesy things, like get her a birthday outfit and tie a balloon to her stroller. Sometimes I think I get totally carried about with being a mom! :D

Anywho, I'll update with more details on the cook-out later!

ALSO ALSO ALSO!!!!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

I freaking LOVE The Children's Place, and you should, too! Not only do they have the CUTEST and coolest clothes EVER for pretty freaking cheap, but they are really great when it comes to customer service. I've been eyeballing this one dress in particular for weeks, thinking it's the dress I wanted to get Corbin for Easter. After looking other places and seeing nothing I liked, I went online to look at it again, and saw that it was on sale for MUCH CHEAPER! Super excited, I went to the mall on Friday night to buy it. HOWEVER, they didn't have her size in the color I wanted! BUT THEY TOTALLY MADE UP FOR IT because they gave me a coupon for FREE SHIPPING from the website!

[I just think Corbin looks so darling in blue over pink!]

That is grand!

So yes. The Children's Place. I love them. And you should, too! :D

That is all!
