BEWARE

Corbin got a hold of some nail polish. I guess Foofa and Toodee wanted a mani-pedi.

I just want to put up a disclaimer to say that I was NOT home when this happened. But when I returned home, these figures looked like this, Corbin had nail polish on her face and in her hair (and on her nails and legs), and there was nail polish on the chair in the living room. Also, there was crumbled deodorant on the floor and Corbin had that smeared down both sides of her face.

Reminds me of some of the stuff I've seen on SMKR, lol.

Also, the nail polish was high up on top of the TV. Not sure how she got a hold of it. I will say it is the ONLY nail polish that is not put up in a very high bathroom cabinet. So mamas! Hide the polish or else!!

90:365 Robot Arms!

5/21/10

I didn't actually take these pictures, but I have witnessed the same phenomenon since these were taken. Corbin helped herself to some empty water bottles from a drawer in the kitchen and slid them up both arms. I call it...

ROBOT ARMS!!!

Is this not totally ridiculous? She kills me, haha.

And hey look, the food goatee! I wonder if someday she'll turn out to be a prissy girl that can't stand to get dirty? She doesn't seem to care now! She's outside kicking dirt around the backyard as I type this. Whatever makes her happy. :)

79:365 Nerd Girl!

5/10/10

Corbin loves glasses, and she will not hesitate to grab them right off your face, put them on, and run off as fast as she can! I find it especially entertaining when she wants to wear my mad scientist nerd glasses, haha.

I give you NERD GIRL!

She looks super thrilled about wearing those glasses, haha. She also thinks it's hilarious when I chase her with the camera.

I like this picture because she looks like she just had a brilliant idea! Future scientist? I would be so proud! :)

The baby in her native environment. It's extremely hard to keep her room clean, as I'm sure you can imagine, haha.

Just a nifty shot of the sun pouring through her window and her crib. I love it. :)

Also, why does it seem that my toddler has a permanent food goatee? I can hardly ever keep her clean! Ah well, at least she's healthy and happy! :D

77:365 Into Everything

5/8/10

Okay, I'm back! The wedding was a blast and I definitely found a new favorite beach! It's called Driftwood Beach and it's on Jekyll Island...I think it's my new favorite place in the world!! Can't wait to go back again! So onwards with UPDATING! :D

This was from Saturday, May 8th, and I found Corbin in the kitchen seeming very comfy in the tupperware drawer, haha.

It's like Grandma Lewis said, she is literally "into" everything! And I've seen her in some crazy places, but this was definitely a first.

Trying to climb out, and she needed some assistance.

Our kid does some of the craziest things, and we just sit back and laugh (unless it's dangerous; then we stop her). She has such a big and fun personality that even her tantrums crack us up! She's so dramatic! And terrible two's seem to have hit pretty hard, but we're taking it all in stride.

(Hey, it's the last day of May! Think I can get caught up before tomorrow? Haha!)

55:365 *smooch*

4/16/10

Corbin was in a particularly loving mood last Friday, as she was sitting on the top of her basket of stuffed animals, showering them all with kisses! Everyone got a turn! Here she is with Olivia.

Isn't she the sweetest! Corbin is usually pretty shy about kisses, so I thought it was hilarious that she was enjoying this so much!

A baby doll she got for her birthday last year from Stephanie Horlacher. :)

Toodee getting some kisses!

Mwah!

And kissing another of her babies. :)

She also gave kisses to Brobee, but sadly that picture was blurry. Usually when I try to kiss her she ducks her head out of the way, but I know she likes it because she dissolves into giggles. Glad I have such a loving baby!

54:365 CHEESE!

4/15/10

I'm not sure what had gotten into Corbin on this night in particular, but wow, she was psychotically happy! Let these picture speak for themselves!

I was like, "Corbin! Say 'cheese!'" Corbin said, "CHEESE!" and gave me this crazy smile. Love it, love it, love it! LOL

Tackling the mama, and enjoying every second of it!

Look at all those teeth! Man, I love this kid. :)

Would you believe me if I said she went to sleep not too long after this? Heehee.

17:365 Princess NOMS

I edited this picture several days ago, but never got around to uploading it. I LOVE IT, her face just cracks me up so much. I just hate that it was a tad bit on the blurry side! Wish so much I could invest in a new camera, but I'll work with what I've got in the meantime!

This was at Burger King, and in her kid's meal she got a Pinkalicious tiara. Not sure who Pinkalicious is, but I definitely approve!

Corbin loves this tiara. She carries it around the house and can actually get it to stay on her head. I'll ask her if she's the princess and she says, "Princess!" Too stinkin' cute, I know. She also likes to try to put the tiara on my head, but she usually just pokes me in the eye. Gotta love it. ;D

PS. Corbin is becoming SUPER PICKY about what she eats. If it's not chicken nuggets or hot dogs, she's not touching it. This has become quite frustrating!

Princess Corbin

My child is the epitome of vain. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and chattering away. She is just fascinated with her reflection, no matter where she may find it: the oven, a large cooking pot, the faucet in the bathtub, ANYWHERE. It cracks me up because she actually "primps" while she's in the mirror by fussing with her hair. If it's a ponytail, she'll touch it. If it's bows, she wants to pull them, and if it's just hanging loose, she's running her hands over it.

Lately she's become infatuated with this plastic tiara that found its way into her toybox. She gets excited when you put it on her, runs to the mirror to see, and then goes to adjust it, which means she takes it off. When she realizes she can't put it back on, she gets upset and then brings it to me to put it back on.

Here's a little peek!

This time she has found her reflection in the glass of the doors leading outside. And she's strutting her stuff as Princess Corbin, devourer of brownies. :)

Sugar Rush!

This morning I was woke up by insane giggling. Turns out, Corbin had a bit too much sugar at breakfast and she is practically bouncing off the walls. She's had a Little Dog Rodeo and she just can hardly contain herself.

Just see it for yourself. :)

Sorry about the high-pitches. She gets a little too excited sometimes.

Also, those are CLEAN CLOTHES on the floor, lol. Time to fold and put away the laundry! :)

New Favorite Toy

Disclaimer: There's not really a baby in the oven. That's just what we say when she starts talking to her reflection, lol.

Uh-oh!

I've created a monster!

I thought it would be cute to teach Corbin to say "Uh-oh!" when she drops things.

She's finally got the hang of it.

And she's dropping things on purpose just to say "Uh-oh!"

I'm dying from the cuteness!

It Came From Inside the Diaper!

[cue scary music]

I've been a mommy for 13 months and some weeks and days. Whatever that pretty little ticker on the right hand side says. And I've encountered some mean diapers.

But NOTHING, so far, has even come CLOSE to the one from this morning!

The actual diaper? I didn't change it. Ryan was the first to discover the immediate mess. Apparently Corbin had poop up her chest and back (she only slept in the diaper, by the way), so he brought her downstairs and had to begin wiping her down while she was standing, then lay down a towel, and then he got to the actual diaper, which was a four-wiper. He said it was so bad he had to take it outside and put it directly in our rollcart trash can. I was down here shortly after this and got to hear the horror story.

Oh, but that was only the beginning.

I went and got Corbin's pink blanket out of her crib (the blanket she has decided in recents weeks she will not sleep without) and discovered it had fallen victim to the poop-explosion. I put it in the washing machine as quickly as I could because I knew that no nap would be had without that blanket and it wouldn't be long before she was ready for her 11am nap that she takes like clockwork every single day. I then noticed something that looked suspiciously like poop on Corbin's forehead, so I decided it was a good time for a bath. After her bath, I decided it was time to see just how bad of a mess we had on our hands.

In her crib, there was poop on the vertical rails, on the sheets, on the mattress pad, on her blankets...it was scary. I wiped down the rails, changed the sheets and pad, and took everything to the laundry.

And not a moment too soon! As soon as her pink blanket was dry she was rubbing her eyes, a good sign it was time for her 11am nap.

Ah, the joys of parenthood. Guess I better get started on this poopy laundry! :)

Cookie Monster

So if there's one thing that Corbi-lou loves more than Yo Gabba Gabba, it's vanilla wafers. She likes these cookies like it's nobody's business.

And so of course, she knows what the box looks like and has decided she wants to try to get cookies for herself. This morning I caught her in action. She thinks she's so sneaky, lol.

Also, please note her amazing collection of mosquito bites. They popped up on her Friday morning, after a day of NOT being outside. Not sure how the mosquito(s) got in our room, but it had quite a feast of my baby girl. I took her to the doctor to make sure everything was okay, and of course he reassured me that things were fine. Corbin hasn't acted like she even notices them, either, so I guess I shouldn't be too worried!

In other news, her fifth tooth just came in, and she's been a MUCH happier baby since! We can even take her out in public again! :D

We've Created a Monster!

Yesterday was my birthday, and we had dinner out with my friends. Two of my gal pals brought me a really pretty cupcake, which they sprinkled themselves with watermelon flavored sprinkles!

I didn't even get to taste the cupcake!!!

Corbin took it upon herself to eat the entire thing. And she then smeared the icing all in her hair and all over her entire face. This was like her birthday cake, but a thousand times worse, lol.

I think we need to keep the baked goods away from the baby!!!

[PS. I promise birthday pictures soon! I had to resize them all, and now I'm being lazy about uploading them!]

Crazy Baby

The other day I had stepped outside the front door so I could snap a few shots of our Boston Terrier puppies for the classified ad I was getting ready to run. I hear Corbin banging on the door, so I turn around, and this is what I see!

She always loves looking out the door, but I guess it was especially exciting because the puppies were running around!

Smooshing her nose and hands against the glass.

Super tickled and giggling. I'm pretty sure that blur in the picture is where the also took the liberty to lick the glass.

I'm not even surprised. The first thing she does in the morning when we put her in the bed with us is crawl to the window, beat on the blinds until we open them, and then stare out the window watching the cars go by.

I'm so glad to have such a happy and curious baby. :)

James P. Sullivan

When Ryan and I got married, we went to Disney World on our honeymoon, much to my delight, and much to his distress, I'm sure, lol. We only had about $65 for the entire trip as spending money, so we put almost all of that into buying some food so we could pack lunches while we were there and the rest went towards parking and gas. Even though we only had such a small amount of money, we still made the most of it and had a wonderful time together, and I ended up with one souvenir.

I got a stuffed version of Sulley and Mike from Monsters Inc., one of my favorite favorite favorite Disney movies (after Toy Story, of course). For a while I had them hidden away in the closet because Winston had taken an unhealthy interest in them, and I don't know if you guys are aware of the destructive capabilities of a Boston Terrier with a stuffed animal, but let's just say this was definitely for the best.

Flash forward almost two years, and someone finds out they are pregnant.

After getting the crib set up (a few months before Corbin was born, lol. Not sure why!), I put Sulley in Mike in the corner. They have been there since the day she came home from the hospital, just hanging out, being cute and fluffy and happy looking. And Corbin never paid them any mind. Until today.

So I'm sitting here at the computer, and all is quiet, and then I hear Corbin in her crib laughing. I peek up over the railing and I see that she has rolled over onto her belly, is facing the corner of the crib where the big blue stuffed monster is, and she is seriously giggling at him. I cracked up. She usually gets really cranky when she rolls over onto her belly, but I think today when she made her discovery, she was pleasantly surprised. Luckily, the camera was handy, so I grabbed it up and started filming. I need to get a bigger memory card, though, because I only got a few seconds of footage. Or maybe I should just get a real video camera! :P

So, without further ado, here's the video:

Heehee, I love my little girl. She cracks me up. I'm so glad that I had a day off and could finally spend some much needed time with her. :)

Making Monday Awesome!

Right now during the summer, I'm only scheduled for 3 shifts a week, and if one of my shifts happens to fall on a day when Ryan is working, I have to stay home with the baby (much easier for me to get off work at the last minute than him!). This morning I was kinda sad because it was very last notice that I couldn't go, but I couldn't stay sad for long with this beautiful face around!

Yes, I know what you're thinking. Why is she wearing a hat in July in Georgia?! My goodness, it is MORE than hot there!

I answer you this.

Not only was she wearing hats, but she was also sporting some very awesome mittens! (Thanks, Aunt Franki!)

Heehee, she looks like she's about to give me the ol' one-two. Okay, so maybe not. But she was in a good mood!

And okay, the reason she had on a hat and mittens is because earlier she fell asleep in her swing downstairs, and when she woke up, I noticed that her hands and toes were like ice! Now, I did put little booties on her feet, but she kept kicking them off, so I gave up after about three tries and just stuck with a blanket.

Later today, we delved into our current favorite book, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone! I've been reading it to her since her first days home from the hospital, and today we are on chapter 7, The Sorting Hat! It's kind of exciting to be reading aloud. Almost makes me wish I was going to be teaching elementary age kids instead of high schoolers!

Almost.

After reading, we spent a little tummy time on the bed. She really cracks me up. She usually doesn't like tummy time too much, but today she lasted for almost ten whole minutes without getting fussy!

Yes, it's a bit blurry, but she wouldn't hardly stay still! She was a little squirmy. And then she made a remarkable discovery...

It's much easier to eat her hands from this position! And boy did she go to town! She actually left a nice little drool spot on the mattress.

[Yes, the mattress. The sheets are in the dryer. I guess I could go and get them and put them back on the bed! It would be much nicer to sleep on!]

After a few minutes of gumming her arm, she decided that she'd like to sit up. But that didn't last too long before we had a major face-plant incident!

Disclaimer: No babies were harmed in the making of this photograph.

She just sat there until I picked her up! She cracks me up sometimes. It didn't even phase her.

After a few minutes, she became very cranky, so I had to convince her it was a good idea to take her paci and go down for a nap, where she still remains.

I really do have fun with my little baby girl, even though she's only three months old! It makes me excited to see what's to come when she begins to learn more and becomes more mobile! I think it's time to get her some new "moving" toys! We'll just have to see!

(Oh yeah and tomorrow I'll try to get some better quality pictures out of my camera! I can hardly ever find it when I need it and my camera phone is always handy, so I get some fun shots, but they are always so grainy!)
