Miss (Corbin) Olivia the Pig!

The costume came out marvelously, I must say, even if trick-or-treating was sort of a bust!

Just a refresher, Olivia the Pig!

And Corbin's final look!

Super pleased with myself, I have to admit! The ears were the hardest part to make, but I'm happy with how they came out! The costume was definitely recognizable because while we were out, some little kids said, "Aww, look! It's Olivia!"

Score one for awesomest mom ever. :) Happy Halloween!

Presenting...OLIVIA!

SO! The costume is (mostly) assembled! With the help of a fellow teacher/sewer/mother, I have made the shirt and dress. They are by no means perfect, but I think for my first foray into sewing, they are magnificent!

The dress and shirt, before adding buttons. And there's supposed to be a pocket, but I'm beginning to feel it's not worth it, so I think we'll go without!

Corbi-lou in her costume! I think she really likes it! :)

And imagine red and white tights instead of black, because that's what she'll be wearing!

And so now I just have to make the ears, and I'm REALLY hoping that's the easy part! We'll see! Can't wait until Halloween! :D

It's Almost Halloween...

So I just noticed that I haven't posted here in two months. Please forgive me. I will eventually get this show back on the road, but I let myself get overwhelmed and so now I'm occupied with other things and this has been pushed to the wayside for the time being. ALL IN GOOD TIME, my friends.

ANYWHO.

It's that time of the year. MY FAVORITE TIME OF THE YEAR. I love October, and I absolutely LOVE Halloween. Now that I have a kid, I get to dress her up and take her trick-or-treating and it's so AWESOME!! So Corbin's first Halloween, she was as cute as a pumpkin...

...and last year she was the fair and beautiful Snow White.

THIS YEAR, however...I'm making her costume by hand. And I give you...

DUN DUN DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN...

OLIVIA!!

So yes, we're going to be Olivia the pig this year. I'm going to be making the shirt (because I can't find one anywhere that doesn't cost an arm and a leg *coughAmericanApparelcough*) and the red dress. And the ears. Can't forget the ears!! I ordered the tights today (yay free shipping and 10% off at BabyLegs.com), so I'm not backing down or copping out! I've been putting off making the costume because I was scared to commit to making something by hand, but in the spirit of Halloween and all future Halloweens, it's time to get started!! I solemnly vow from here on out, Corbin will have the coolest costumes of all time because I WILL be making them.

THE END!

I'll let you know how it goes! Don't worry, I WILL post pictures! :D

OH HAI!

I promise I haven't forgotten about Corbi-lou's blog, nor the fact that I have tons of adorable pictures to share, like when we visited the pumpkin patch or went trick-or-treating, or just some cute "Everyday Silliness" Corbin photos!

In the meantime, I suppose the few I have on my flash drive at the moment will have to do while I have a free moment to update! :)

My baby Snow White. :)

The best part of Halloween!

Corbi's crazy cousins!

[Noah was G.I. Joe and Tristan was a Ninja Turtle. :) I'm not sure who the grim reaper is, but he kinda makes this photo a tad bit creepy, don't you think?!]

Pooped from all the Halloween goodness! Even her pigtails are falling out!

We've been walking around our neighborhood everyday for the past week. It's so nice to get out of the house, especially while the temperature is so perfect. A few days ago it was a bit chilly and by the time we made our way outside it was dark, so my baby donned her 2009 winter gear (she's outgrown the stuff from last year, sadly!) and was reading to roll! :)

In other news, Corbin's vocabulary constantly grows and she says and does things that have us laughing all the time. She's so smart and thinks she's so sneaky. We're on to you, Corbi-lou! She also requests to watch her favorite television show by name, saying "Gabba" over and over when she wants to see it. And she sings along to the Wonder Pets! It's been fun times all around.

Until next time! :D

Crafty Mama & Boo

I wish I was more crafty so I could make this Halloween costume for Corbin:

It's Boo from Monsters Inc! I think it would be perfect because when she's got her little pigtails, she looks just like her!

Boo

Corbi-lou

See the resemblance?!

BUT since I'm not crafty, she's going to be Snow White, which is what I wanted last year, so I'm really excited! I can't wait for Halloween!

Happy Halloween!

Okay, so obviously I'm late on the Halloween post, but I've been enjoying my weekend off to the fullest extent...which means that I slept until 1:30 this afternoon. I did get up and feed and take care of Corbin this morning for about an hour, but lucky for me, Ryan took over so I could get some much needed R and R. And I feel great!

So Corbin ended up having TWO Halloween outfits, and of course I did pictures of her in both of them! We really didn't do anything "special" for Halloween besides the dressing up...I was feeling very under the weather Friday so I didn't want to go try to fight with kids at the mall for the trick or treat thing when Corbin can't even eat candy yet! And I didn't carve a pumpkin, either. OH WELL. However, I got some very adorable pictures, and to me, that's all that matters at this point. :P

Her first outfit was just a Halloween-themed outfit. The onesie was a gift from a co-worker, the socks came out of the $1 bin at Target, the tutu was $4 at Claire's, and the hairbows were like $3 at Walmart. And it was ADORABLE!

Pictures!

That last one cracks me up because it looks like she's sticking her tongue out at the pumpkin! And it was hard to get her to want to look at the camera because I made the mistake of having the dogs outside while I was trying to take the pictures, and she is so fascinated with the dogs that she wouldn't take her eyes off of them! All of these smiles were strictly for daddy! (She totally lights up when she sees him.)

Speaking of Corbin and Daddy, have I mentioned how much of a daddy's girl she is?

Yeah, he's whipped. :P

Corbin's second Halloween outfit was a little angel costume that Grandma Lewis sent that I paired with some rainbow butterfly wings that I also found at Claire's. (I really do love that store.) She looked so pretty and delicate, and I think she had more fun with this photoshoot (maybe because I left the dogs inside this time?).

More pictures! :D

Doesn't she look so happy? :)

And then, there's my new favorite picture of Corbin, where she's totally showing her true colors:

I see a little bit of Daddy and a whole lot of Mama in that picture. :)

Anywho, that's all for now, but I'll write back soon about her crawling escapades! Let's just say that it'll be any day now, as she's getting very persistent!
