We Heart Spaghetti! (and Bath-time!)

Today we thought it would be fun to let Corbin feed herself for a change, and since we were having spaghetti for lunch, we thought it would be perfect! We chopped up the noodles really small so that they would be okay for baby, and then strapped her into the chair.

She seemed a bit apprehensive at first like, "Are you really going to let me dive right in?"

But it didn't take her long to get the hang of things (or get spaghetti everywhere)!

Finger-licking good! (She had two helpings!)

Shortly thereafter, the clean-up crew moved in and got to work so we could go hit the bath!

Now it was time for a good bath! (The gross part was carrying her up the stairs and trying to get her diaper off while she was covered in spaghetti sauce and noodles!)

She has tons of toys in the tub. As you can see here, we've got a few members of the Gabba gang, Muno and Foofa.

Brobee is also hanging out, on his pink intertube (aka one of the rings from those stacker things that all children own). Not if Corbin has anything to do with it! (Yes, she IS trying to eat Muno.)

And here's one of her rubber duckies, Kitty. There's also a pink one named Flora (in the bottom right corner of the previous picture). She likes them a lot. And isn't this smile just precious? Can't you tell she just loves the bath?

Afterwards, she was being very sassy, and did NOT want me to put on her diaper.

Finally, it was time to pass out. You wouldn't expect anything else after so much excitement, right?!

That doesn't look too terribly comfortable, if you ask me! But she was snoozing!

Until next time! :D

First Words!

Earlier this week, Corbin said her first words. That's not to say she hasn't been babbling incessantly for these last few months (because seriously, she never shuts up...kinda like her mother, perhaps? Heehee), but she's finally saying words in context.

Surprisingly, they weren't "mama" or "dada" at all!

Her first word is "bye." Complete with a two-handed wave. When she first figured it out, she wouldn't stop saying it for the entire day! If I said, "Bye, bye!" to her, she'd stop whatever she was doing and start whispering (that's what she does when she's really intrigued by something), and then start waving both hands, going "bye, bye, bye, bye..." nonstop. SO STINKING CUTE!

Her next word is "dog." I'm not surprised, considering how much she loves Winston and Madison. They were jumping around and generally being crazy and I started saying, "dog?" and after a few minutes she was repeating the word back to me very clearly. It's so exciting!

I've been trying to get her to say other words, but nothing seems quite as exciting as "bye" (cue two-handed wave) or dog.

OH, AND EXCITMENT...our first Easter is tomorrow, and her birthday in just 8 days!!! I can't wait! Be prepared for an overload of pictures. I've got some good ones of her first self-feeding from this morning, too. She had a baby's favorite...spaghetti! :)

11 Months!

Holy moly, my baby is 11 months old! That came and went very quickly!

And so, I'm starting to plan her birthday party! I already know for sure that I'm going to have a cook-out on Sunday, April 19th at my place, starting at 3pm. I'm going to have the boys cooking (Ryan and Mark, in case anyone didn't know), but that's all I know for sure.

Her actual birthday is Monday, the 20th, and I'm thinking about taking the day off and heading up to the Atlanta Zoo. I haven't been since I was a kid, and I don't remember anything about it. It'll cost Ryan $18.99 to get in, but I can get the college student rate at $14.99 and Corbin can get in for free! That's not so bad, money-wise! Food shouldn't be an issue, because Ryan and I can pack a lunch if we need to (a la our honeymoon in Disney World), and Corbin's food is already as portable as can be!

So yes, that's the plan, hoping that weather permits and I can take a day off of work. I think she'll love the zoo, since she seems to REALLY love animals, and being outdoors. I want to do cheesy things, like get her a birthday outfit and tie a balloon to her stroller. Sometimes I think I get totally carried about with being a mom! :D

Anywho, I'll update with more details on the cook-out later!

ALSO ALSO ALSO!!!!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

I freaking LOVE The Children's Place, and you should, too! Not only do they have the CUTEST and coolest clothes EVER for pretty freaking cheap, but they are really great when it comes to customer service. I've been eyeballing this one dress in particular for weeks, thinking it's the dress I wanted to get Corbin for Easter. After looking other places and seeing nothing I liked, I went online to look at it again, and saw that it was on sale for MUCH CHEAPER! Super excited, I went to the mall on Friday night to buy it. HOWEVER, they didn't have her size in the color I wanted! BUT THEY TOTALLY MADE UP FOR IT because they gave me a coupon for FREE SHIPPING from the website!

[I just think Corbin looks so darling in blue over pink!]

That is grand!

So yes. The Children's Place. I love them. And you should, too! :D

That is all!

Crazy Baby

The other day I had stepped outside the front door so I could snap a few shots of our Boston Terrier puppies for the classified ad I was getting ready to run. I hear Corbin banging on the door, so I turn around, and this is what I see!

She always loves looking out the door, but I guess it was especially exciting because the puppies were running around!

Smooshing her nose and hands against the glass.

Super tickled and giggling. I'm pretty sure that blur in the picture is where the also took the liberty to lick the glass.

I'm not even surprised. The first thing she does in the morning when we put her in the bed with us is crawl to the window, beat on the blinds until we open them, and then stare out the window watching the cars go by.

I'm so glad to have such a happy and curious baby. :)
